Liverpool Blog Meet

This blog meet is gonna really kick some ass. Not that the other blog meets won't but, and there always is a but, there will be people coming from Canada, United States, England, Ireland, Scotland, France and Germany!!!

WOOHOO!

Tentative plans are as follows:

1. We shall meet at my hotel - 62 Castle St Hotel - around the dinner hour for a Meet & Greet.
2. After the Meet & Greet, we shall go to a local restaurant for dinner.
3. After dinner, we shall start our pub crawl. WOOHOO!
4. Around 10pmish, we shall land at a pub that has karaoke and wait for the rest of the bloggers to meet us there. Some bloggers will be arriving later that evening and they need a place to find us. I think they should just follow the noise, don't you? *snigger*

The rest of the itinerary will come together over the next few days.

The point man for the Liverpool Blog Meet is denzil85. By November 1, I will need confirm of who is coming to the Liverpool Blog Meet to ensure denzil can make adequate dinner reservations.

Here's what I need from you folks:

1. What time will you be arriving in Liverpool? This is important to know so we can set the time for the Meet & Greet and the dinner reservations.
2. What type of food would you like to eat at dinner? Lemme know as soon as possible so denzil can make reservations.
3. Anybody know any fabulous restaurants in Liverpool? Close to the city center?
4. Anybody know of any great pubs? Close to the city center?
5. Anybody know of any great pubs that has karaoke? Close to the city center?

That's it for now.

    Weatherspoons is for tramps and dole-ites with their fifty pence pints and burger offer. And they dont even do Haggis.
    
    I'd suggest the passage to india on bold street for our meal WOOHOO. Alternatively, the Master Chef on Renshaw Street is okay. We could go there, because it's cheap. Anyway, we can talk about that when we all meet up. Yay!

  I will be in Liverpool on the 29th and staying over at another friend's place. I will check into the hotel at 3pm. Sure, you can drop your stuff off at the hotel.

      We sure can Denzil. We can meet between 4-6 pm that day. I'll be scarpering off to dinner at 6:30pm. Once the date gets closer I will P/M you the details about the time. Where should I meet you? I'll be coming from Manchester via train.

1) I arrived in Liverpool on a rainy September evening about 22 years ago. Is that relevant to this questionnaire thingy?
2) I'll eat absolutely anything, so gimme a few suggestions and I'll see what I can work out!
3) I don't know about fabulous, but there are quite a few nice ones here !
4+5) My initial thoughts here are heading down Mathew Street (birthplace of the Beatles!)

    Yeah Mathew Street sounds good to me. I'm not aware of there being any specific curry restaurants in Liverpool city centre but I could be wrong !

        I agree denzil85, scout out the restaurants on Matthew Street that is either a curry restaurant or Italian and then I can give the numbers on who is coming for dinner so we can make a reservation.

Magnox and I will be at the hotel roughly about check-in time, about 3pm/4pm. He doesn't like anything too fancy and hates Chinese, but can always have the curry as he loves that. I eat everything. So that's 2 for dinner here. Probably best to have it start no late than 7.30, as these big dinners tend to last for a few hours!

    That was one of my thoughts actually about Weatherspoons! The meals tend to be between £5/10 so is fairly affordable and it is pretty near to most of the bars/clubs in the city!

        Make youre mind up about what you'd like to eat ! Weatherspoons do one or two curries which are alright so anyone with a desire for curry would be alright there

Meno, me thinks it's about time a definitive attendence list was created!

I'm still terrified.

I'm thinking of saving up and trying to get a room in the same hotel as you. Treating myself!

That, and your room will be a lil' cramped I think, and being turfed out in the middle of the night by an angry hotel manager also terrifes me!

Matthew street is appropriate for tourists A bit overcrowded, but hey we'll find a place
As for places to eat,who cares about the food? It's the company that counts.
